You know, I just can't walk past a mirror without taking a self portrait.

Yesterday and Today at the Pier (Manhattan Beach, CA)

Pier Ratting (you know like mall ratting) is hanging out, just hanging out, in the parking lot on the south side of the Pier. During the week there are only a few, but on the weekend the lot is jammed, with cars cueing up for a spot (at $1.50/hour). Not only do the surfers park there cars here, but they also hang out here when there is nothing going on. They would prefer to be surfing and I would prefer to be shooting. But sometimes it just doesn't work out that way. So you hang out.
Chris' car is always parked in the #1 spot in the lot, seniority!

Right now Italy's 2 man beach volleyball squad practices directly in front of the lot.

A windswept beach littered with volleyballs.

A cyclist stops by to admire and photograph the view.

Shadows in the sand are nice, especially if one is of me!

A rather optimistic Natalie waxes her board even though conditions don't look promising.
